Notice on Arrangement and Enrollment of Graduate Courses for 2020-2021 Spring Semester

Dear graduate students,

Thecourse enrollment systemwill open from the 15thand 16thteaching week in this semester (from December 14 to December 25, 2020). The detailed arrangements are as follows:

1.Time for personal training plan adjustment and courses enrollment

Graduate education information management system will open from 08:00 December 14th, 2020 to 20:00 December 25th, 2020 for students to adjust their personal training plans, add and/or drop graduate courses. Courses retaking application also should be completed within this period.

2. Course enrollment website and login method

http://yjs.sjtu.edu.cn,login with your jAccount, click “Training”, “Course Enrollment”. Some general courses and specialized courses are arranged by Graduate School and Schools. For these courses, the students can drop or add by themselves during the enrollment period. Please note that students shall be responsible for themselves if they cannot add a course because the class is full after they drop it.

3. For arrangements of mathematicalcourses, please refer to the attached files.Matrix Theorytaught in English will be offered.

4. English for Academic Purposes

In the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year,English for Academic Purposeswill be offered on both the Minhang Campus and the Xuhui Campus. There are 68 teaching classes available on the Minhang Campus, among them 59 classes are oriented for domestic students and 9 classes for international students. There are 14 teaching classes available on the Xuhui Campus, with 11 oriented for domestic students and 3 for international students.The graduates need to enroll the suitable teaching class by themselves; please pay attention to the remark information for the teaching class.

5. Chinese Language Elective Courses

In the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, the following Chinese courses will be offered to SJTU international degree graduate students:Elementary Chinese (1)(4 credits), Elementary Chinese (2)(4 credits), Intermediate Chinese (1)(4 credits), Intermediate Chinese (2)(4 credits),Advanced Chinese Reading(1)(2 credits),Advanced Chinese Reading(2)(2 credits),Advanced Chinese Presentation(1)(2 credits),Advanced Chinese Presentation(2)(2 credits)Advanced Chinese Writing(1)(2 credits),Advanced Chinese Writing(2)(2 credits),HSK4 analysis and test-taking strategies(2 credits),Technology Chinese(2 credits). Interested students can apply to take these courses according to their current Chinese proficiency.

Course register arrangement:

(1) From December14 to December27, register your Chinese language class at: https://wj.sjtu.edu.cn/q/qJPGtDd2.

(2) From December 28 to January 4, Graduate School will confirm the list of students for every class and arrange appropriate classes for students in the system. On a first-come-first-served basis when class capacity is insufficient.

(3) February 22nd(the first teaching week), class begin.

6. Introduction to Chinese Culture

In the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, theIntroduction to Chinese Culturecourses will be offered on both the Minhang Campus and the Xuhui Campus. There are 2 teaching classes available on the Minhang Campus, with 1 in Chinese and 1 in English. There are 2 teaching classes available on the Xuhui Campus, with 1 in Chinese and 1 in English. Graduate School have arranged classes for students according to theirChinese proficiency, Students can check their course schedule in the system.

7. Specialized Courses

Specialized core courses are arranged by School and their enrollments are carried out at the same time with general courses.

8. Add/Drop courses

The add/drop of courses will be opened in the first two weeks of the spring semester. Course retake/re-examination applications should also be made during add/drop period. Once the Course retake/re-examination applications are approved, students have to enroll their classes in the course retaking page in the system.

Beyond the first two weeks of the spring semester, courses adding and dropping will be not allowed.
