In order to showcase through multiple channels our international students’ colorful life and the diverse cultures of SJTU, Graduate School is to launch the 2022 “My Graduate Life @SJTU” Short Video Contest, which aims to encourage the international graduate students of SJTU to film short videos on their study life in China and SJTU. The videos should express the contestants’ first-hand experience and observation at China and SJTU, present their life creatively from a first-person perspective, and convey true feelings and interesting discoveries.

International graduate students of SJTU; Individuals or teams of 2-3
5. Requirements
(1) Content: About SJTU in your eyes, your postgraduate life at SJTU, your research and lab life, your extracurricular life, and what you have seen and heard during your studies in China
(2) Form: Vlogs, talk shows, speeches, interviews, original songs, etc.
(3) Length: 3-5 minutes
(4) Subtitles: Bilingual subtitles in Chinese and English, or bilingual subtitles in English and any other language
(5) Resolution: 1080*1920 or above
(6) Format: Mp4/Mov
(7) Filming Location: Unlimited, as long as the video can reflect the required theme and attract potential applicants to know about SJTU
6. Timeline
(1) Submission
Video work saved through mainstream cloud drives: the link generated and the corresponding extraction code. Baidu Pan (Baidu Netdisk) is recommended. Contestants should send their application form and the link of the work and the extraction code, to the official email address (gs.admission@sjtu.edu.cn) before 24:00 on Dec. 15, 2022 (Beijing Time). The title of the email should follow the pattern “Participant/Teamleader’s Name + Student ID + Number of participants” and the body of the email should contain all the team members’ relevant information.
(2) Evaluation
Experts specializing in international communication will evaluate and grade the submitted videos during Dec. 15 to Dec. 30. The final score of each submission will be based on the judges’ evaluation.
7. Awards
(1) First Prize: 1 winners, prize worth 1,500 CNY each; certificate
(2) Second Prize: 3 winners, prize worth 1,000 CNY each; certificate
(3) Third Prize: 5 winners, prize worth 500 CNY each; certificate
(4) Honorable Mention: 20 winners, a SJTU souvenir; certificate
The Graduate School of SJTU will publicize the outstanding videos therein through multiple channels worldwide.
8. Notes
Contestants should ensure that their personal information is true and accurate, and that their works are original and do not infringe on the copyrights, portrait rights or other legal rights of others. Any violation will disqualify the submission and the contestant(s) will be held legally responsible.
From the effective date of application, all contestants must obey the contest arrangements and the relevant regulations; otherwise they will be disqualified from the contest.
All copyrights of the contestants’ video content, photos, recordings, etc., belong to the Graduate School of SJTU. The Graduate School of SJTU holds complete rights to provide media with the video works for publication, exhibition, network promotion and other non-commercial uses.
The interpretation of this contest is subject to the Graduate School of SJTU.
