Notice on semester registration and course taking of the 2018-2019 spring semester for graduate students

To all schools/departments, and all postgraduate students,

The arrangements on semester registration and course taking of the 2018-2019 spring semester have been finalized and shown below:

  1. Schedules for semester registration and beginning of lectures

    1. For full time postgraduate students

      Semester registration: 08:30-11:30 & 13:30-16:30, Feb 24th, 2019.

      Beginning of lectures: Feb 25th, 2019.

    2. For part time postgraduate students

      Semester registration: 08:30-11:30 & 13:30-16:30, Mar 2nd, 2019.

      Beginning of lectures: please check your personal timetable.

    3. For postgraduate students in School of Medicine

      Please check the notice from the School of Medicine.

  2. Venue for semester registration

    All current postgraduate students of SJTU should visit the graduate affairs office of the respective school with their student ID and complete the semester registration.

  3. Tuition fees payment

    1. Who should pay: Students whose tuition fees are not covered by scholarships either partially or fully should make the payment before the semester registration.

    2. Payment methods: Please refer to the instructions from the financial department of the university, and choose one of the following means to make the payment:

      1. Online payment: Please login the SJTU Payment Platform and make the payment (www.jdcw.sjtu.edu.cn/payment). The username is your student ID, and the initial password is the last six digits of your Citizenship ID (Shenfen Zheng) for domestic students or your student ID for international students.Please make sure to navigate to the SJTU Payment Platform viawww.jdcw.sjtu.edu.cn/paymentONLY, so as to avoid being trapped by some phishing websites. For online payment, please make sure the debit card has been authorized for online payment, and the owner of the card can be someone other than the student him/herself. The SJTU Payment Platform supports the debit cards from more than 20 Chinese banks. The invoice title for the payment will be the student’s name and student ID, if you need to specify a different title, please follow the instructions shown on the platform.

      2. Wechat payment:Please login your wechat, search for the “SJTU Financial Platform (上海交通大学财务平台)” official account and follow it. For first time visitors of the platform, the username is your student ID, and the initial password is the last six digits of your Citizenship ID (Shenfen Zheng) for domestic students or your student ID for international students. The invoice title for the payment will be the student’s name and student ID, if you need to specify a different title, please follow the instructions shown on the platform.

  4. Request for late registration

    For those who are unable to make the semester registration as required, a written request for late registration must be submitted to the graduate affairs office of the school before the scheduled registration day. For requests with valid excuses, a grace period of no more than two weeks could be granted. Those who fail to register on time without an approved request or who fail to register within the approved grace period will be treated as absent without valid excuses. Those with approved requests shall visit the graduate affairs office of the school and complete the semester registration within two weeks of the new semester.

    Those who fail to register within two weeks of the new semester without an approved request or exceeding the approved grace period will be handled according to the regulations on student status of the University.

  5. Postponing graduation

    Those who schedule to graduate in Mar 2019 and will graduate as scheduled do not need to register. Those who schedule to graduate in Mar 2019 while cannot graduate as expected should apply to extend the study duration and complete the semester registration within two weeks of the new semester.

  6. Suspension of schooling or resumption of study

    Students on suspension of schooling do not need to register, while those whose suspension of schooling is not effective yet (e.g., the application for suspension of schooling has been approved while not been updated on the system yet) should complete the semester registration as required.

    Those who come back to resume his/her study after suspension of schooling should apply for resumption of schooling first, and then complete the semester registration as required.

    The graduate affairs office of each school should verify the registration information for all postgraduate students and report the list of unregistered students to the graduate school. The graduate school shall then handle it according to the university regulations.

    Each school shall pay attention to the semester registration and remind the students to complete the semester registration as required.
